Red Sox Make Their Statement
To paraphrase John Sterling, the biggest idiot in any broadcasting booth,"THEEEEEEEEE YANKEES WIN!!!!!!
As his idiot partner, Michael Kay would say,"SEE YA !!!!.This is what NY has just said, without saying it. The Sox inaction on Kuroda will cost them the pennant. Now,we hear that a young pitcher with nasty stuff, who should win 15-18 games with the Yanks, was acquired. This gives them the quality front four starters that I have been begging the Sox to get all winter. CC,Nova,Pineda, and Kuroda. Throw in Freddy Garcia as number 5. Couple that wit the best bullpen in Baseball by far, you should expect a parade down Heroes Canyon in late October. I don't want to hear about the Yankees ability to spend. The Sox can certainly approach their payroll if they wanted to. Can't wait to see Carlos Silva and Cook go up against Pineda and Kuroda.Thankyou,John Henry, for nothing!

Jeezus you sound like a MFY fan.
Remember when we got Gonzo and Crawford and the season was over before it started. Also, Oswalt is cheaper, younger, more experienced, and has played in a tougher division in the NL East than Kuroda. If we sign Oswalt I think we get a better deal than the Kuroda signing, if he’s healthy of course…

So what you're saying is...
that you’ll be upset if we sign Oswalt because he’s not Kuroda? I for one think Oswalt would be a better fit than Kuroda.

Oh yeah because Theo's activeness in the last few years really amounted to anything.

He's put together great teams the last two years
They didn’t win anything, but that doesn’t make them less great on paper, which was his job.

Theo acquired players when we had no need for them
Cherington is doing the opposite.

Thankyou BSF
You want get far with this gang by being critical of the Sox ownership. Many of the poster will believe any thing management tells them. I call them the Stepford wives.
I think I'll call you "Marie Antoinette"

There are actually many of us who don't.
If you’ve actually been paying attention this winter there are quite a few of us who are very discontent with the new GM.
But of course Ben is not really ownership, but you would make that mistake.

Ain't It The Truth
Haywood Sullivan ruined the Sox. He let Lynn, Fisk and Burelson walk. Later his scouts provided him with what would have been the best staff on earth, during the 80’s. Trading John Tudor’s great career for one year of Mike Easler. Trading Bobby Ojeda for Calvin Shiraldi Refusing to sign good free agents. This is what the ’86 staff could have been:
Clemens 24-4 2.48
Tudor 14-6 2.92
Hurst 13-8 2.92
Ojeda 18-5 2.57
Boyd 16-10 3.60
In 1985,John Tudor went 21-8 with an ERA of 1.93. In that same year Fisk’s line was 37HR 106 RBI.
At this point, this is my playoff picture for the AL
AL East: Yankees
AL Central: Tigers
AL West: Angels
Wild Cards: Rays and Rangers

Frustrating
I have been a Red Sox fan all my life and I get so tired of hearing how the Yankees got one of ours by doing what we should have been doing. Paying some bucks and not being so cheap! After seeing the Yankees starters, if Ben thinks we really don’t need another starting pitcher badly, he really is fooling only himself. We should get Roy Oswalt and I mean now!! I’ve heard he only wants 8 big ones.
If you really think the Red Sox are being cheap

Cheap
Fox, they don’t think the Sox are being cheap because of the large payroll. They ARE being cheap this winter and that can not be denied. They let their own HOF closer leave without ever making an offer. Being one quality pitcher away from have a solid front four, and not doing anything about it. Replacing J.D Drew with a with a singles hitter with no power??? That is being cheap. Letting Kuroda go to the Yankees, instead of getting him themselves. That’s being cheap. All we have gotten this ywinter are dumb GM cliches and rumors that went no where.
HOF CLoser??? WTF are you smoking???

There are literally two relievers who pitched in this era that will have the remotest chance to go into the Hall
Rivera is a lock, and the only other guy with a shot is Trevor Hoffman.

You know its actually very humorous
That you make a comment about some posters being in high school (I’m in high school right now as we speak – as a teacher). Yet in that post you just killed the English language.
I feel a disturbance in the force
as if a thousand English majors cried out in agony, and were suddenly silenced.
