This year sucked major balls, it really did, but we all managed to stick through it without any major in-house warfare, which I appreciate. However, OTM, and I'm sure PSA, has a major problem with trolls, it comes from being the big men on campus, all the smaller fish in the pond want to come take shots at us when things don't go our way.

I understand that Ben can't be in every gamethread. Ben has school to take care of, and he's been an awesome mod for us since Randy left. I want to stress that I in no way want someone to take his place. That being said, I think we need more people with the power to ban trolls, even if it's only for 24 hours, in the gamethreads. Marc and Matt, while incredible writers here, simply don't spend enough visible time in the threads either.

So, I suggest the gamethread regulars, Sean O, AlohaSox, Pesky Fan, MassGal, etc be given to power to police the gamethreads and enforce the rules of OTM as offenses against those rules happen. Ben, Marc, Matt, I know you guys are trying, but banning the day after, or even a couple hours after offenses doesn't slow the tide of trolling, it encourages more trolls to keep coming because they know they can get their stuff down and have people react to it before they get banned. Having some people who are regularly in gamethreads, who recognize the patterns from certain trolls (IE, "I'm only here to talk baseball" = DRB troll) will help stem the tide of trolls and make OTM a more enjoyable spot to stick around and talk about Red Sox baseball.

These are just my thoughts, should such a thing not be possible then that is fine.
