One last try.......

I have been optimistic and enthusiastic to the point of being obnoxious to some of my fellow red sox fans.....some might even describe me as a troll.  But I just feel so passionate about this.  So here it is, one more speech to rally the troops.  If we lose tonight, you will never hear me like this again.  You have my word.

Anyone ever seen the movie "Angels in the Outfield"?  It's the story of boys in Foster care who want desperately to have a home, a real family.  JP, one of the boys, often says:  "Something good is going to happen, maybe today even, it could happen!"

That's what we need to remember as Sox fans.  Something good is going to happen.  Maybe today even.  It could happen.

When Rudy had his back against the wall, in the last game of his career as time was ticking away, it looked like he would never play.  But did he ever give up?  No!  And he made it!  He got to play.

When we were down  3-0 to the Yanks in 2004 with Mariano on the mound, did we give up?  NO!  And look where it got us.

If at first you don't succeed, dust yourself off and try again.  you can dust it off and try again, try again.

Sure, our fall from grace has been epic.  But we still have a chance.  We aren't done yet.  And we won't be.  We have what it takes.  We can do it!

Tonight, the battleground is in Baltimore.  We aren't allowing any soft guys to play or to cheer.  If you are a soft guy, you won't be allowed in.  Who is with me!!!??

Once we claim a victory there, we move on to our next foe.  They will take us lightly, but we will strike with the force of a thousand Vipers.  We will bite hard and not let go until our opponent is dead.  We will make them quit.  We will, like the University of Utah football team in 2008, laugh at all who said that we had no business playing with the big boys.  We will step it up.  We will play hard always.

We will be victorious.

GO RED SOX!
