Hunter Pence just got selected to his 2nd All-star game and as we saw in the series against the Astros, he is one heck of a player. He hits for average, has some pop, good speed as he stole 18 bags last year, and a good fielder. The RF dilema has been well documented this last week, and Hunter Pence would sure up that postion this year and for the future as he is only 28 years old. He is most certainlty availible as the Astros need to rebuild and need to turn their players into prospects. His contract for this season is 6.9 million and is arbitration eligible next season, so it isn't overwhelmingly expensive. He is a great player who would come at a hefty price. Is this move a possiblity for the Sox or am I just dreaming?
Would a trade along these lines be fair for both teams:
Boston gets: Hunter Pence, Sergio Escalona
