Players round 15 or below
1. Julius Gaines
Terrific defensive shortstop with plus speed. Has hit against some of the best high school pitching. Has potential to hit .270 with 10 homers and plus plus defense.
2. Brandon Downes
5-tool player, terrific athleticism. Had a school record 15 homers and an absolutely incredible 1.064 slugging percentage
3. Daniel Gossett
Plus Fastball that he can get up to 95, three pitches.
4. Jarrett Brown
Extremely high upside, very projectable, 6’3 but only 169 pounds. struck out 93 batters in 53 ⅔ innings. Lefty, his high school coach thinks he will be able to get it up to 95 in a year. Needs to develop a consistent off speed pitch. This is what his coach said about him “I will not be surprised if we don’t see a mid-90s guy by the end of the summer, He really doesn’t know what he’s doing yet, but he’s got unbelievable upside. He’s got a really bright future.”
5. David Chester
Can flat out hit, has a huge build and an unlimited power ceiling. Hit 5 home runs in a week recently in the Red Sox system, has very good plate discipline. At Pitt, he hit .345/.470/.665. His bat will need to carry him though.
6. Blake Forslund
Another high ceiling pitcher, did not pitch well this season at liberty, but can get it up to 97.
7. Sikes Orvis
Another player who can flat out hit, I don’t know how these players last this long.
8. Zach Good
Tall and lanky, projectable, throws low 90’s with a very good curveball.
9. Austin Davidson
Utility infielder who can play SS, 2nd and 3rd very well, has a terrific arm, not a great hitter.
10. Brandon Kaeptyn
Has played very well in college, killed the ball, and also pitched very well.
