Red Sox release "It Gets Better" video
The Boston Red Sox, following in the footsteps of a few other MLB teams, have released their own "It Gets Better" video. "It Gets Better" is a project spearheaded by Dan Savage, with the aim of providing support for young LGBT people who suffer from bullying and discrimination due to their sexual orientation. Homophobia is an all-too-real problem in our society today, and public shows of support like this are instrumental in turning the cultural tide against discrimination.
Huge kudos to Tito, Youk, and Tek - and the entire Red Sox organization - for taking part in this great cause.

it's a solid contribution to the series
I am glad it was inclusive of the organization as opposed to the just featuring team, and while I do wish a couple more players were involved, recognizing that the paid and volunteer staff, fans, and famiies of the front office include LGBT individuals is an important piece. Recognizing that bullying directed at ‘different’ youth is something people relate to without necessarily being LGBT and that it’s not as lonely as it might feel/seem was an important inclusion, too (thanks for that, Youk!)
with all three MLB team efforts, their video runs 1 minute, likely so they’ll fit in a PSA slot on TV… but I’d like it if the squads could have done an extended cut for the web audiences, more in the 2 1/2 to 3 minute range.
Bravo, Sox!
saw this recently...
agree it’s well done, but would have been even better with the addition of a few more players. Good to see Francona :)
