Red Sox Minor Lines 6/27: Bad Day For Pitchers

As Marc has already mentioned, Miles Head has been promoted to High-A Salem. Michael Alamanzar will be shipped back to Greenville as the counter-move, which makes sense given that he wasn't actually able to hit at Greenville when they bumped him up to Salem.

Pawtucket W 4-1

Box Score

Che-Hsuan Lin: 0-5, 2 K
Yamaico Navarro: 0-4, 2 K
Ryan Lavarnway: 0-4
Lars Anderson: 0-3, K
Jose Iglesias: 0-3, BB, K

Hideki Okajima: 2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 1 K

Portland L 5-15

Box Score

So that one got out of hand in a hurry.

Jeremy Hazelbaker: 1-4, BB, 2 K
Alex Hassan: 0-4, BB
Chih-Hsien Chiang: 1-2, HR, BB
Tim Federowicz: 2-4, HR, BB, K, E
Reynaldo Rodriguez: 1-5, 2B, K

Junichi Tazawa: 0.2 IP, 3 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 2 BB, 1 K
-Nothing like an 81.00 ERA to inspire faith.

Salem L 8-10

Box Score

Kolbrin Vitek: 2-5, 2B, BB, K
Bryce Brentz: 1-4, BB, K

Anthony Ranaudo: 5.1 IP, 6 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 0 BB, 4 K
-Salem Sox announcer Evan Lepler is of the mind that Ranaudo's start was better than it looks, which seems to make sense to me. He'd only allowed a pair of singles through 5, and the sheer number of fly ball singles makes me think it was just one of those days where your outfield doesn't have your back.
Kendal Volz: 1.2 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 3 K
-I miss Volz starting. He was better then.

Greenville L 2-3

Box Score

Sean Coyle: 2-4, 2B, K
Brandon Jacobs: 1-3, BB, K
Henry Ramos: 1-4, 2 K
Xander Bogaerts: 3-4, 2B
David Renfroe: 2-2, 2 BB
-Renfroe has 6 walks in his last 6 games and is hitting .345/.426/.431 in June.

Lowell W 4-2

Box Score

Keury De La Cruz: 0-4, K
Garin Cecchini: 0-2, 2 BB, SB
-Cecchini is batting .179 with a .250 slugging. He's also got a .208 BABIP, a 6:4 K:BB, and has stolen four bases despite his limited appearances on the basepaths.
Will Middlebrooks: 1-3, HR
-This rehab should not last long.
Travis Shaw: 1-3, HR, K
Seth Schwindenhammer: 1-3, K, POCS
-And so the multiple strikeout streak ends after 6 games.

GCL Red Sox L 5-6 (In 12)

Box Score

Kendrick Perkins: 0-5, BB, 4 K
-Perkins isn't looking much better than Schwindenhammer, really, with half his at bats ending in a K.
Jose Vinicio: 0-5, K

Dennys Reyes: 1 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 1 K
-He lives! But oh, how the mighty have fallen.
Yunior Ortega: 3 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 4 K
