By John Galbato I watched the national broadcast of the Twins-Red Sox game with mixed emotions. On the one hand, a 1-1 extra inning game is basically my version of nirvana. When two teams are so evenly matched, I always find it compelling. But I spent a fair amount of time thinking about how I had picked both of these teams to be contenders. The Red Sox, now 17-19 and in third place in the AL East, are far from dead, but 6 losses behind the East leading Yankees and 4 losses behind the Wild Card leading Rays is a long shot from where the BoSox were supposed to be. Most pundits picked them to win the East, and many picked them to win the World Series. So far, they’re posting a below league average 4.22 runs per game, while allowing an above average 4.47 runs per game...
