roguenine how about you read this , go to baseball-reference and look who carl crawford is most comparable to as a hitter and player at this point in his career: roberto clemente. would you want an in-his-prime roberto clemente batting 7th in this lineup too, or are you just retardedly ignorant to how good crawford really is?
come on guys, 3 games... really? lets get real. you guys think youkilis and pedroia are good hitters right? pedroia: .300 hitter, mad doubles, 15 homers, scores runs and drives em in.... youk: .300 hitter, 25 homers, scores runs and drives em in, mad doubles.... so why the hate on crawford? a .300 hitter that hits 19 homers and mad doublees (and triples) and scores runs and drives em in? cuz of 3 bad games to start a redsox career? how was manny in his first 3 games? no one remembers cuz no one cares
i mean do you really want a guy that drives in 90 runs in the 7th spot beheind jed freakin lowrie? that HURTS our lineup, and thats not even the worse way it hurts it: it KILLS us in that we have a .300 hitter that tears up the basepaths better than anyone in the league getting on for... salty and mcdonald? wtf good is that? get him on base for gonzo or youk or ortiz or pedroia, hell even for ellsbury or drew, not for freakin salty behind him. that is just retarded. maddon put him in front of longoria and calleed it a day, teams were screwed when they had to focus on crawford out of the corner of their eye with longoria up there waiting to crush one, it was RBI and stolen-base city... thats why i want him batting in front of gonzales but its tough to start off with 3 straight LHH's....
i personally think you slap crawford into the #2 spot in the lineup and call it a day, lefty or righty pitcher: who cares? he should be our 2nd batter for the next 7 years in this lineup, him and ellsbury are good hitters they can hit lefties anyway, theyll tear it up on the basepaths... put petey 3rd (he'll respond to the challenge anyways, dudes a freakin MVP!), gonz 4th, youk fifth and ortiz 6th and thats that... sure ells and cc are both lefties but at some point THIS YEAR (only) youre gonna have ot have two good lhb's hit back to back, might as well be the two speedsters to start the game (or crawford 3rd and gonzo 4th cuz gonzo kills lhp's anyways and those are your two bigmoney guys and best hitters in the lineup)
The fact is when this team is hading into the playoffs and Carl Crawford is finshing up a season where he put up career-best numbers with this lineup around him everyone will forgt that he struggled the first 3 games of the season. When he's in the heart of our playoff order with a near-team-best OPS and 50 sb's plus a goldglove in left some of you guys are gonna regret some of the things you've said about him. Dude is that damn good, 20+ homers is a possibility and so is 40+ doubles, so is 100+ runs or RBI's
he's that good. There's a reason he's been an allstar for years and there's a reason he's won silver slugger and is most closely resemblng Roberto freakin Clemente as a hitter to this point in his career. He's a great hitter (and getting better) and an even greater allaround player. And he's a redsox for the next 7 years, and i for one am PUMPED about that.
