Have there been any Red Sox that played mostly with the Yankees before coming to the Red Sox?
Lets Go Red Sox! 2 wins in a row and hopefully 3 tommorow to get to 5-10. There's a long way to go yet.
Babe Ruth, Roger Clemens, Wade Boggs and Johnny Damon. The four most predominant Red Sox who later went to the Yankees and won World Series with the Yankees. Babe Ruth and Johnny Damon were the only two players to win a championship with both the Red Sox and Yankees. Of course 86 unfortunate years for Red Sox fans had something to do with that. But my question is were there any memorable players who started their career with the Yankees and finished with the Red Sox.
I can really only think of two Elston Howard who played with the 1950s Yankees and I think he was on the 1967 Impossible Dream Red Sox team although I could be mistaken. The other is a horrid memory for Red Sox fans Mike Torrez who won the World Series with the Yankees in 1977 and gave up the famous Bucky Dent homer in 1978. Sorry Red Sox fans for the bad memories.
I always thought it would be poetic justice to get one of the Yankees great players someday and have him win with the Red Sox since the Yankees got four of the great Red Sox players I mentioned above. But who really. Derek Jeter is a lifetime Yankee and should get 3000 hits with them which is amazing considering no other Yankee has done that in history. Mariano Rivera and Jorge Posada are old. Mike Mussina and Andy Pettite are retired.
Its not like I want Yankee blood on the Red Sox but I've always wanted to see the Red Sox get one of their great players and win just like the Yankees got four of the Red Sox great players and won all those championships. But I wont hold my breath as history has shown it probably happen. Let's hope the Red Sox win anyway.

If we really wanted to wound the Yanks
I wonder if we could find a way to rob their metaphorical cradle and get Jesus Montero on the Sox.

Johnny Damon played more years in KC than any other team
He played 6 years in KC; 1 year in Oakland; 4 years in Boston; 4 years in New York; 1 year in Detroit; and now he’s in Tampa.
I gotta go 'cause I'm probably definitely gonna nod out again.
Maybe I should rephrase that where do you remember him most, not just years of service with a team

Alfredo Aceves
I think he’s going to be a key contributor for us over the next few seasons… and the MFY just let him go :)
Sigh.

well if it makes you feel better
he is currently poised to be a key contributor to the Pawtucket Red Sox as Matt Albers rejoins our pen.
Didn't David Cone pitch 1 good game for the sox?
The Mussina 1 hitter, Was Cone with the Mets or the Yanks longer? I guarantee it would have hurt to see Cone suceed in Boston.
