The Red Sox lead 6-1 despite a somewhat shaky Lester and a lot of mediocrity from the top of the order.
So how did they score their runs?
Jarrod Saltalamacchia and Jacoby Ellsbury. I can't believe it either. But sure enough, Jacoby hit a 3-run shot in the second, and Salty has two hits with RISP. Something it seems like the rest of the lineup couldn't do against a little league team at times.
It's the seventh inning. The Sox just need to not give up five runs in three innings. But Jed Lowrie, the wunderkind with two of the luckiest hits you'll ever see today, just got zero outs on a double play ball, and there's runners on first and second with nobody out. Can't say that doesn't elicit just a bit of panic.
Go Sox!
