OTM OT: Dealing With Spam

While we're enduring an assault from every team that plays the Sox, it looks like we're suddenly getting an assault from every Thalidomide Baby who thinks it's funny to troll the site.

I think I'm with the overwhelming majority of OTM viewers in saying that BB and the new regime is doing a great job with content and running the site, but last night's little ridiculous explosion shows that we definitely need to do more to make sure the community is maintained.  I don't know the specifics of SBNation, but it seems like the site desperately needs people who can simply remove comments and ban people.  Nobody expects the writers to be here all the time, but the more eyes the better.

I think there are some responsible, even-keeled people like Bloggy and BobZupcic who would be perfect for the role.  Unfortunately, the internet is full of scumbags, and we can only expect the invasion of stupidity to increase as our team flushes itself further down the drain.

[Editor's Note]: That I'm still not entirely sure what went on is proof enough of Sean's point. While there haven't been many incidents like last night's, it doesn't seem like it can really hurt to have some more folks who are capable of cleaning them up when they do arise, just in case we're not around.

So, with that being said, any of you even-keeled (as Sean suggested) folks out there with interest in a moderator role?
