According to MLB.com's Transaction page, the Boston Red Sox have outrighted left hander Dennys Reyes to AAA Pawtucket.  Reyes was designated for assignment last Friday just prior to the Red Sox' win over the Yankees.

Reyes won a roster spot over Hideki Okajima and Alfredo Aceves coming out of spring training; however he struggled to get his sole job done: getting lefties out.  In fact, Reyes could hardly throw a strike to any hitter at all.

The Big Sweat will now head on down to Florida for an extended spring training stint before he joins the Pawtucket Red Sox' bullpen.  Reyes signed a new 1-year contract with the Red Sox just before the end of spring training, which disabled his ability to opt-out of his contract and seek other employment.

Maybe all Reyes needs is a stint in AAA to get his feet wet.  We can only hope so for the sake of finally finding a LOOGY for the bullpen.
