Pedro's Closer Music.

I'm going to look for something a little more positive to talk about, since seemingly nothing is going right for the team. I want to present you all with the following hypothetical scenario:

After becoming fed up with Papelbon in the 9th inning, Theo Epstein decides to bolster the Red Sox bullpen, in a surprising decision, he designates right handed reliever Dan Wheeler for assignment, and brings beloved Red Sox icon and arguably the greatest player to ever stand on a pitcher's mound, Pedro Martinez to serve as Boston's new closer. The only question is, what music should the Sox play as Pedro makes his menacing entrance from the bullpen to the mound.

This is debatable, but I am of the belief that the greatest song for any closer, past or present, belongs to San Diego icon and saves leader Trevor Hoffman. The intro to Hell's Bells gives off the feeling of dread, after all, "ask not for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee." Hoffman was an executioner, entering the game to lay the opposing team to rest. Likewise, New York closer Mariano Rivera owns the song "Enter Sandman" as he comes out of the bullpen to put the game to bed.

So now I ask you, what song should the visitors to Fenway Park hear as the greatest pitcher ever strolls out to the mound to put the game away for the Red Sox?

Pedro walked away from the Red Sox

with a World Series win. That’s how it should end.

It didn't work as a rally song, but as a closer's entrance music, could be great.

I'm not sure Kanye West is epic enough for closer music.

Hells Bells and Enter Sandman are pretty incredible songs.

This was my thought though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8JLy1Yqt7M

Some other ideas:

Don’t Fear the Reaper
Enjoy the Silence
Tchaikovski’s 1812 Overture
Death Comes to the Unicorn Prince – Deathmole
A Poor Man’s Memory – Explosions in the Sky.

This is “A Poor Man’s Memory” which is my second choice:

Don't Fear the Reaper

Would be a great choice.

In the same vein as Lacrimosa Dominae, how about Duel of the Fates?

Pedey would gladly give it up I'd guess.

In this fantasy world where Pedro closes for us. But it is an excellent song.

Just Cause I've Been Listening to This All Day...

And cause I’ve been hyping myself for the game. Just take out some of the sound effects/vocals and we’re golden:

Pedro’s that bad-ass, IMHO. Just sayin’.
