2011 Red Sox Community Projections: Clay Buchholz And What Could Have Been
If there's one man who could have made the difference for the Red Sox this past year, it was Clay Buchholz.
It's hard to say the end of Buchholz' season came suddenly. After all, while he pitched his last game on June 16, it wasn't until much later that the severity of his injury would become clear. As a result, Red Sox fans were left waiting for a savior, hoping for a return that would never come.
In his shortened season, Buchholz was not the sort of world-beater that he proved to be in 2010. He was, however, exactly what the Sox needed in September: a solid starter capable of keeping the team in the game. Hopefully we'll get something similar when he returns in 2012.

A solid amount of yellow and red considering that the typically easy hits were thrown out the window. MattSullivan is the clear winner, and given what he was right on, likely also a witch. Burn him? Burn him!

He turned me into a newt!
…I got better.

It's not my nose, it's a false one!
I think Buchholz’s health is one of the biggest concerns for Boston next year. If he is healthy he will likely be productive enough to be one of the better third starters in baseball, but the past two years don’t give me much confidence that can stay on the mound

Just think
we could of had Roy Haladay in the rotation and Blue Jays could of dealt with the 2011 injury. As I remember Blue Jays wanted Buchholz and another piece like Lowrie or Kalish/Reddick for Haladay.
Another non-move Theo gets little, if any heat.
With our luck, Halladay would have started six games, put up an ERA of 4, then had his arm snap off at the elbow and go pinwheeling into the stands.

I don't remember ever seeing what Ricciardi would've taken
I do remember at the deadline we got Martinez, the Sox offered Toronto Buchholz, a choice of Masterson, Bowden, or Lars (remember when those last two had value?), and a lower level guy, and that got rejected.
I believe it was equatable to what we offered for Felix.

Another damn goose egg?
Jesus, I was bad at this…
Is there a simple way to find all of these on here? Like, can we create a thread with links to them all… I feel like I might have missed some.
And when do we start on 2012 projections? I have some serious work on redemption!
I thought we’d never win it all. And then we went down 0-3 to the Yankees in 2004, and I thought it was the end of the world.
Wait ’til next year!
