The Red Sox had themselves quite a spending spree last offseason, and this year it's probably time for a step back. However, the Sox still do need to fix some holes and they could knock two of them out with one move- sign Willie Bloomquist. Bloomquist is a very versatile player who can play any position on the diamond, pretty much, and could platoon against lefties with Reddick and compete for a starting job at short. Bloomquist batted .266 in a pretty good year for the D-Backs, and stole 20 bases too. He'd also be a lot cheaper than somebody like Jason Kubel, Michael Cuddyer, or Josh Willingham. He could bat 8 or 9 and add some speed to complement what we have. Comment what you think, or read my blog right here for some more information. Thanks!
