A Cubs fan spotted him in Starbucks, spoke to him, and he drove off in the direction of Wrigley Field.

The giveaway is that after Theo denies being Theo by saying he gets that a lot, he then asks, "Who's Theo Epstein?" Obviously, he would know who Theo is if he 'gets that a lot.' And why would someone in Chicago 'get that a lot?' It's not likely that too many people in Chicago knew who Theo was until a week ago, hardly enough time to 'get that a lot.'
