If we signed Mark Buehrle, at the very least, he'd be a soft-tossing lefty we would not have to play against. But he's also more than that, as he's coming off his best season since 2005 with a 3.59 ERA and an FIP of 3.98. He doesn't throw particularly hard, and he doesn't strike out too many people- but he has great control and an uncanny ability to just get people out. I've always enjoyed watching him pitch- except when it's against us. Buehrle has been consistently good for the other Sox for more than 10 years, and would be a good piece to add to any rotation. If Buchholz is healthy, and Lackey bounces back- Buehrle could be a part of a very formidable rotation: Beckett/Lester/Buchholz/Buehrle/Lackey and would probably be the best #4 starter in baseball. He is a free agent in the upcoming offseason, and with our bottomless buckets of cash, I do not think it would be a bad idea to sign him. Please comment what you think!
