Jed Lowrie's Surprise Tear Has Created an Interesting Perdicament

Stay connected for news and updates

Before Jed Lowrie tore it up for the Sox at the end of last year, Jose Iglesias, was supposed to be the future Red Sox shortstop. With outstanding defense, and a quick bat I still believe he is a Red Sox fit for the future and will be a productive contributor at the bottom of the lineup. So Where does that leave Jed looking forward?

Jed Lowrie is receiving a lot of hype and fans are talking about him like the shortstop of the future, after he posted power numbers similar to the one's he posted playing shortstop for Standford. Although, he has great power, I still feel that the offensively minded Red Sox still should have Iglesias take over at the pivotal position of shortstop. Pending Iglesias and his plus-plus glove take over at shortstop what do the Sox do with Lowrie looking past 2011?

My vote is to move him to 3rd and DH Youkillis, because Lowrie's power numbers can't be ignored. I just am unsure if this move would upset Youk and make him desire to sign with a ball club who has an open corner infield spot for him.
