Okey-Dokey
Besides me, is anyone excited about Hideki Okajima coming back? We all loved him until last year. Remember 2007? We had two Japanese rookies, and one was an allstar. It wasn't the one who had a 50 mill posting fee, pitches 5 innings and has 100 pitches, but the pitcher who everyone loved, who was our setup man before the greatest pitcher ever (not) Daniel Bard came up. He's still got it, and he will help us in 2011.

KG,
You seem like a nice guy, but perhaps there are other locations for several of these fanposts? This very easily could’ve been in the 2 other Okaji threads.
If you have...
…for starters:
Becket – R
Lester – L
Buchholtz – R
Lackey – R
Matsuzaka – R (not crazy about it…but seemingly likely #5 guy)
Then the bullpen seems to be:
Papelbon – R
Bard – R
Jenks – R
Wheeler – R
Doubront – L
Okijima – L
That bring you to 11…if you carry 12…who the guy?
Wakefield – R
Atchison – R
Albers – R
Seems like Wake to me. Most versatile. But that also leaves Michael Bowden in Pawtucket another year. Same for Tazawa. It’s a nice situation to have, but there will be some unhappy campers when Spring Training breaks.
it's definitely Wake
they can’t just let go of Wake after all this time when he can still be useful. Bowden isn’t gonna get hurt by more time in Pawtucket (he hasn’t proved himself majors-capable anyways) and Tazawa needs time there after his TJ surgery. No problem there. I’d guess Albers or Atchison makes the 25 man over Doubront though to start the year, so that Doubront can continue his development as a starter.
atchison or wake
wake will probably get the job b/c of his rep in boston but i think atchison is the best pitcher of that group
Doubront is likely out.
He’ll be more valuable in the long term as a starter in AAA this year than a long arm in the Sox bullpen.
In the Red Sox righty-loaded rotation...
…lefty-bullpen arms are important. I think Doubront’s best use is in the Red Sox pen. Barring injuries…I would take Doubront.
Bowden sucks
Tazawa’s arm is still healing
!!!!! GONZO !!!!!
!!!!! CRAWFORD !!!!!
!!!!! LIVERPOOL !!!!!
Bowden certainly hasn't been impressive
during his time in the bigs. I don’t follow him in the minors to know enough of how he does there.
Galactus does as he pleases. Because Galactus is drunk.

I hate this signing personally.
Look Okajima has decling numbers since coming in 2007. His once renokwned desception is fading and hitters are picking up on his fastball much easier. He also has had a sharp decline in velocity. Last season right handers batted .340 while lefties batted .277. I really like Rich Hill’s chances of getting lefties out much better considering he has had great success against them when he can spot the curveball like he did for the Cubs way back when.
Adding To That...
Why in the hell are you hating on Daniel Bard. A man who was once a starter and throws five pitches pretty effectively. Save your Bard hate for atleast Papolblows.
Okay, the Papelbon nicknames are getting ridiculous.
I don’t care if you think he’s a terrible pitcher, if he plays for the Sox, you show him respect.
I'm a 7 WAR player in bed.
