OK, remember that Beckett curveball earlier in the game that their pitch zone showed as being off the plate?

That was closer than some of those were shown in the overhead view. I’m fairly positive they edited that tracking **** purely to make their “edge of the plate” point.

USG

by Ben Buchanan on Aug 8, 2010 10:27 PM EDT reply actions

It was shown as off the plate on their tracker.

That little white strike zone they throw up there. I’m just saying they edit them when they need to make a point about past pitches.

Beckett’s probably registered as off the plate. I just doubt all of Moseley’s were just perfectly on the edge like the graphic showed.

For as well as he is pitching, at least on par with Lackey, in my mind better, he is worth it.

yes, but dumb fans factor in the posting fee to his performance

That's true, but that's the cost of bussiness and has nothing to do with Dice-K personally.

He is only making 8 mil a year.

I can see adding the money to his contract as total money spent, but it’s just how the posting system in Japan works, it allows teams to have compensation for losing major talent.

I think the Beckett extension will bite us big time.

If we had just waited, with the way the season has gone, we could have signed our 3rd starter for so much cheaper. That would be a risk worth taking.

I dislike the MFY

but love Rivera. Paps needs to take pointers from him on how to act.

He'll have the chance

When the MFY sign him in about 15 months.

+1

This was the turn point series in my mind, either we took 3/4 or we start looking at this as a “bridge year” and employing a different strategy one where we arn’t making the playoffs.
