What the hell Reddick?
1-4? That’s all you got?
So does Pawtucket actually have starters or are their games pitched entirely by a large group of relievers? Furthermore, is that the future of the league?

Future of what league?
And no, Ramon A. Rameriz started for Pawtucket.

Baseball
Some people think that the rise of the relief pitcher will mean that starters are going to start pitching less and less (unless they are Dice-K who doesn’t pitching into he 6th not because of good relief but at this point his arm is going to fall off). It’s an interesting idea, we have 12 pitchers on the roster now (of course not all are capable) but in the future maybe you have 4 groups of 3 pitchers that each pitch 3 innings and operate on a rotation.
I forgot we still had RamARam. He’s a starter now?

Yes he is
Has been a little while now.
Right, I agree about the starting pitcher stuff.

Ranaudo is preparing to return to LSU...

Not Twitter
Just checked his name for the last few days, nothing besides that negotiations haven’t really started.
I hate that I use twitter now as a legit news source over all other sources.

Well, that's where all the legit sources report first.
140 characters is considered legitimate there, so they get to scoop it quickly before writing for real.
Great little thing, that Twitter.

I stand corrected found it:
Yahoo: Ranaudo preparing to return to LSU, however, sources still believe Ranaudo and the #RedSox will get a deal done. http://bit.ly/djgl4b
"We are not normal, We are Legends. People will tell their kids about us." - Deon Butler before Ohio State Game 2008.
Yeah, that's typical posturing.
Put together a schedule, because otherwise on the 15th the Sox are gonna say “Wait, you’re not ready to go back to LSU and pitch at all? $1 million.”
Doesn’t mean he’s going to sign, obviously. I just wouldn’t put much into that.
USG
I think we get it done
Especially after the way he proved himself on the cape this year.

He's a Boras client
if he signs (which I think is pretty likely), it will be in the last possible minute and there will be no indication he is interested in signing until his name is on the paper.
This is pretty much the case.
Though that’s true of a lot of well over-slot early round picks.
Ranaudo, though, would be kind of crazy (financially speaking) to go back if the Sox offered him ~$2 million. With the Cape Cod appearances boosting his bonus back up to big levels, he’ll only really lose leverage with another year at LSU, since he’ll basically be forced to sign unless he wants to go to an independent league.
I really expect him to cash in so long as the Sox liked what they saw. Otherwise, Coyle is probably a lock since it was reported well before they drafted him that they had a deal in place.
Workman might be the hardest deal to get done just based on where both sides set the value at. I think Cecchini is a guy the Sox are definitely willing to open their pocketbooks for.
USG
Uggh, give Workman and Cecchini the money set aside for Coyle.
Yeah, he’s another Dusty. Pedey is a one in a million player, Coyle is much more likely another Ryan Dent.

listen to this story… In spring training, Tug Hullett signed more autographs than I have seen someone sign.

Adam Mills and Stephen Fife's combined lines for today:
6.2 IP, 24 H, 20 R, 19 ER, 0 BB, 1 K, 2 HR
USG
And Tony gets his third hit of the game and 19th homer of the year
On what is his birthday, if MiLB’s player page is to be believed.
USG
WOW
He’s 21, I think, and it looks like he has great power potential.

He is indeed, which makes it even more impressive.
He’s really completely turned his season around. And it wasn’t even entirely a matter of massive BABIP luck. (August has been kind to him until recently, though). Lars is gonna have to turn it on if he’s not gonna get overtaken in Triple-A in a hurry.
Of course, if that happens, maybe it inspires a “Reddick Effect?”
USG
Is Federowicz on the DL?
Could that open up Ibarra’s spot?
