Reddick.
.452/.465/.786/1.251 over his last 10 games. Only one walk, but 19/42 with 9 XBH.
He's not striking out is what's important.
It’s a lot easier to live with a free swinger who makes contact than one who doesn’t.

Ah, Reddick...
… I wish I knew how to quit you.
Wait 'til next/this year?

Scouting the Sally drops a few lines on Hazelbaker and 'Zar
Good
4. Jeremy Hazelbaker, OF, Red Sox – 22-23 year old players in the Sally are a dime-a-dozen. With that said, Hazelbaker isn’t your typical older prospect as his frame still has some projection left and his tools are solid across the board. I’m not sure he’s a future big leaguer, but he’s definitely a player many an organization would have an interest in.
Bad
4. Michael Almanzar, 3B, Red Sox – As we approach the 100-game mark, Almanzar looks visibly tired. In watching him go 0-8, he blended in far too well with the "non-prospects" on the field. Yes he’s still young, but Almanzar is making very little progress. If I wasn’t already familiar with his prospect history, I would have had absolutely no idea that he was a former 1.5 million dollar bonus baby.
Nice site for keeping up with Greenville. Glad to hear another opinion on Hazelbaker that doesn’t rip his defense. Not surprised by Almanzar particularly. He could still suddenly have it all click, but until he does he’s pretty firmly a bust ATM.

I'll give him a couple more years
He is only 19 years old, if we’re willing to say that Salty at 25 can still make it click, Almanzar still has a half decade to figure it out.

Salty has produced at other levels.
Almanzar had 89 nice at bats around incredibly raw competition.

I don't remember any
Though I can understand why they wouldn’t want someone who broke their ribs sliding on dirt.

well he needs to
Ells is practically useless if he can’t slide in the dirt- won’t be able to dive to make catches and make up for his reads and will be a .300 hitting slap hitter that can almost never get past first base
Of course he needs to, but in the pros. Not on a minor league rehab assignment where the goal is to become less sore. It’s not like he doesn’t have the ability to steal anymore, the mindset is there, they’ll probably ease him back into it. Which is why I don’t want him lead off until he’s 100%.
