Red Sox Release Jeremy Hermida
It seems the Jeremy Hermida era is over.
The Red Sox released Hermida, according to The Providence Journal's Dan Barbarisi.
Hermida was a big disappointment this year after the Sox acquired him in a trade over the winter. Hermida's line with the Red Sox wasn't very pretty, while his defense followed a similar suit. Hermida hit just .203 in 158 at-bats this season.
I won't miss Hermida, but I will miss that beard.

Oh hell yes
You don’t know how happy I am now that MDC and Hermida are gone. Now if only we could do something about Lackey…

To be completely fair, part of Hermida's problem was a severe case of Beltreitis
That’s not his fault.
The rest of his problem, however, is that he’s just not very good.

It just didn’t quite turn out the same.
