Minor League Rankings
The minor league season is coming to an end, so that will leave a new off-season ranking for the prospects. I was wondering to see other people's prospects lists and where they rank certain players. First off, here is mine.
1. Casey Kelly
2. Ryan Kalish
5. Anthony Raunado
6. Stolmy Piementel
8. Ryan Lavaranway
10. Josh Reddick
11. Kolbrin Vitek
12. Oscar Tejada
13. Yamaico Navarro
14. Will Middlebrooks
15. Reymond Fuentes
16. Luis Exposito
17. Brandon Workman
18. Junichi Tazawa
19. Che-Hsaun Lin
20. Micheal Bowden
21. Drake Britton
22. Kyle Wieland
23. Brandon Jacobs
24. Madison Younginer
25. David Renfroe
26. Garrin Cechini
27. Sean Coyle
28. Bryce Brentz
29. Jason Rice
30. Stephen Fife

33. Alex Wilson
34. Alex Hassan
36. Dan Butler
37. Alberto Ibarra

40. Jorge Padron
Also, a few questions; Who do you think had the best breakout year in the system, and who do you think will next year? Who had the most disapointing year, and who projects to next year?

Since we're ranking players that haven't really played yet, I'd put Ibarra higher.
We don’t know a lot about him, but the bonus we were prepared to sign him to tells a lot about expectations. Given Reddick’s hot end of season I’d bump him up over at least Doubront, Doubront’s value has gone down a bit, not because of anything he’s done but because now he’s a reliever and not a starter and there isn’t room for him in the starter conversation as we wait on Kelly. I’d say maybe Rizzo has done enough this year to put himself in conversation with Kelly as top prospect as well.

Doubront's value hasn't gone down any.
He’s a starter who’s relieving in his first ML season. Not exactly a surprise. What is interesting is how effective he has been out of the pen. He’s getting major league hitters out, and doing it the right way. 12:2 K:BB in 8.2 innings is very impressive.

But I won't give my list, 'cause I'll be running the offseason OTM rankings. So conflict of interest or something?

Big 10 Divisions?
Yay or boo? I haven’t read up yet but I heard Wisconsin sorta got screwed.

Holy fucking boo.
Why on Earth put us in a different division from both Iowa AND Minnesota.
Iowa is going to have a field day over there too, unless Michigan recovers noticeably.

yeah that's what I figure.
I’m almost a little afraid that because of his success as a reliever, he might come back as one- not afraid cuz I think he’s a bad reliever, but because I’d rather see how far he can go as a starter.
Here's my list
1. Kelly
2. Kalish
3. Rizzo
4. Ranaudo
5. Anderson
6. Iglesias
7. Vitek
8. Middlebrooks

I'll do my top 10:
1. Casey Kelly – No stock drop here, he was the youngest player in his league, no penalties for that.
2. Ryan Kalish – Has cemented his jump over Reddick with a trip to Boston this year, showed improved defense over the scouting reports and has a bat that has yet to show itself in Boston.
3. Anthony Rizzo – The kid has vaulted over nearly everyone this year with his year of power, I would like to see a higher OBP out of him though.
4. Anthony Ranuado – So we don’t know what he is, but even if he’s worse than that guy with the same name that dominated the crap out of the Cape League this summer, he’s still damn good.
5. Josh Reddick – Has had a crazy year, last two months have really pulled together well for him as he found his contact stroke, the defense has always been there.
6. Lars Anderson – Tore up AA, has struggled with AAA. We’ll see how he does starting the season there next year before we knock him off the list.
7. Jose Iglesias – The defense is there by all accounts, needs to work on his patience at the plate though.
8. Kolbrin Vitek – Tore up Lowell and earned a quick promotion. Will see AA next year.
9. Felix Doubront – I’d have him higher if I thought he had a chance as a starter here, talent level is the same but in terms of over all value? Diminishes slightly if we’ll see him for 70 innings rather than 200. Our rotation is locked up mostly through 2014 and our top prospect is a pitcher, though break for Felix.
10. Stolmy Pimental – Did well for himself as a 20 year old in Salem.
Best of the rest – Navarro, Lin, Workman, Lavarnway, Fuentes and Middlebrooks.

Good list
I like all your anaylis. I rank Reddick a little lower though, but thstd iy.

I figure he's made enough improvement over the course of the year to not fall in stock anyway.
Everything he’s done since July has been incredible and he was already mostly complete on the defensive side, I just couldn’t think of any one of those guys I’d rank higher than him, maybe Felix if I thought he stood a chance at working into the rotation but I don’t see where.

I don't think Westy should be knocked from the top 40
Especially if he’s already playing baseball again. He said he’s gonna be in Portland by May, I’ll take him at his word.
If I was your math homework I'd be really hard and you'd be doing me on your desk.
I'm a 7 WAR player in bed.
Wow, Portland
I was thinking more along the lines of Greenville or Salem.

He said in the recovery room that he as gonna be in Portland.
I don’t remember where the link was but it was right after his surgery.

That's mainly the reason why I don't think it will happen.
At least not at the start of the season, if not all of the season.

Isn't he already playing in Lowell? or was it the AFL?
Either way, if he’s already up to playing strength I could see him at the very least finishing the year in Portland.

He's not playing any professional games.
He’s hitting, running, and throwing, so technically he can play baseball. But he isn’t ready to play pro yet. They were putting him in AA to challenge him last year. So he has Bain surgery and misses a whole year. I don’t think he’ll just start playing AA in May.

He's supposed to be "participating" in the instrux league later.
whatever that means, but yes, I could possibly see him ending the year in AA.

breaking:
Robert Coello to be addedto 40-man, called up tomorrow.
Quick Scouting report from what Ive seen; Fastball sits around 92-94, good slider, average changeup. Swing and miss slider. Mixes pitches well, locates well.
