OK, we all agree the Red Sox will need some catching help next season and beyond, and the Saltimacchia deal seems decent, but couldn't Theo have used the prospects traded for Salty in some combination to get a 7th or 8th inning guy like Farnsworth or Dotel?  We don't even know if Salty will ever make it back to and stick in the majors!   The Red Sox are in the middle of a playoff race now;  Why use prospect "chips" to take a flyer on a reclamation project in the middle of the season?  At least Theo could have landed a major leaguer.  Makes no sense to me.
