PrintYes, that's right. The Sox Injury circus continues as Peter Abraham is reporting that Clay Buchholz will most likely be heading to the DL and will not be playing in the series against Tampa.
The Sox will need someone to start on Tuesday. Michael Bowden could do it on a day short rest given how well he's pitched lately, but most likely looks like Felix Doubront, who last pitched June 30 and would be on 5 days rest.
And now, I'm headed off to Fenway to see some AAA team take on the Orioles.

The only positions the Sox are lacking on the DL right now are a RF and a DH. Presumably Beckett could DH, which means Drew should be very, very worried right about now. . . .

Is it just me or does this team have a serious problem against lefties.
They can hit righties fine, but 2 of their best bats have some serious platoon splits; Ortiz and Drew have .608 and .537 OPS against lefties, against a 1.055 and 1.021 OPS against righties. Youkilis makes up some of that with a 1.382 (!!!) OPS against lefties, but he can’t do everything himself. Basically, the beginning and end of our middle-of-the-order is pretty helpless against lefties.
My expectations for hitting against good lefty starters is just going to be to try to get them out of the game. With two of the best hitters rendered fairly helpless against good lefties, all I’m really hoping for is to get to weak righty bullpen arms as fast as possible, where we can do real damage.
Vic crushes lhp and I think Dusty is pretty good too.
