Possible Yankees Red Sox Trades
When you saw the title of this post, I'm sure you went "what the hell is this guy doing, trying to convince Red Sox fans to trade with the Yankees?" That's not what I'm doing. I write for Pinstripe Alley, and figured I'd send along this piece by Pete Abraham.
I was curious to see what Red Sox Yankees trades you would want to send to the Yankees (FAIR, please, thanks)

Joba to the Red Sox?
They say never say never, but I can officially say this will NEVER happen. Youk would shove a bat up his ass within 3 days.

they DO seem to have some kind of fountain of youth
which allows their old players to play well forever. So maybe he’d be a good fit.
that's HGH

There's 2 recent red sox batters I know of tied to steroids or HGH
Big Papi and Manny Ramirez.
On the Yankees, its just A-Rod, and that was during his 3 years in Texas.
Way to use "batters" to ignore Pettitte.
Why isn’t Giambi recent but Manny is? How about Clemens who started after leaving the Sox but before joining the Yankees with Brian McNamee? To say nothing of the fact that the case against Ortiz is one of the weaker ones in baseball.

Fair? Please? Yankees? Trades? Want? Red Sox? Is Santa going to blow Rudolph too?
Because that part of freaking LA L A land, I think would be hilarious. Maybe Elmer fudd could offer some common courtesy too.
Peter Abraham is wasting a lot of people’s time which they can never get back with this.
I’d understand if this was Bruins, Pats or C’s material – but eh Peter you’re not exactly short on material to work with right now. This is your best piece for the Sox today? Really? How do you have this job? why?
he's a good writer
his blog is geared towards getting as many hits and responses as possible, so stupid things like this come up. But he’s a good writer.
noooooo they don't
but they probably do look good to his bosses because of all the angry replies I’m sure it has elicited. I think it’s awful, but I understand what he’s doing.
I can't agree - it's the lazy way out of an assignment.
Sure it’s easy hits and user generated responses – but I would hope the globe was challenging him to put his best out there when writing about the Sox, Yanks & trades.
I mean the short term hits and traffic he generates are great, but long term this does nothing for him as a writer, the globe as a reliable resource or/especially for the fan. So what’s the point?
Or try something huge. David Ortiz, Jose Iglesias and Ryan Kalish for Joba Chamberlain and Jesus Montero.
I’m sorry…thats just…wow.
yeah he sounds like a yankees fan there
even without ortiz in the deal, the yankees would win that
It's not that bad on a whole really.
Montero is a monster bat in the making, and Joba has a FIP of 2.64 this year in spite of the ERA.

No you see
When you trade the major super star bat (Ortiz) for prospects (Montero, Chamberlain), you don’t include your two best prospects in the deal…
Is Kalish a top prospect?
Gotta brush up on my Red Sox system. If not, it’s even if not in Red Sox favor. Montero is one of the best prospects in the entire MLB

Define top?
He’s not on many professional lists yet, since a wrist injury held him back until last year. But he’s basically looking like J.D. Drew with stolen base ability right now.

So he's solid, but not the type that can frontline a deal for a big name?

Wouldn't put it that way, no.
Because now he did his thing dominating Double-A and moved on quickly to Triple-A without too much of a hiccup (bad June, strong July). A cheap, young J.D. Drew isn’t going to frontline a deal? He’s not Montero exactly, but he’s a blue chip.

ortiz, oki and drew for swisher, motero and some good relief pitcher

We've got a tough schedule this year
at Alabama, at Ohio State, at Iowa…
PSU needs to win 1 of those games .. beating the #1 or #2 team will be difficult but I imagine the campus is going to go insane if that happens.. I wish the games were home this year though :(

I think 10-2 is certainly within reach. The big question mark is QB and O-line, I think the defense might be even better this year even though we lost a ton, our defense recruiting has been insane the last few years. I’m not liking Newsome, and I’m hearing that people don’t really think he is the guy. Don’t be surprised to see Paul Jones as the starting QB come Football Eve.
I just graduated so it’ll be rough not going to all the games, next year though, I will do anything for Bama tickets, handing off that first child to a ticket broker is going to be rough, but worth it I think.
If we don’t beat Iowa this year… man that would be sad.

I’m heading off to PSU on a month for my freshman year… I’m so excited. I’ve been a Notre Dame fan for all my life so this should be a nice change.

Well best of luck, State College is a pretty amazing town and there are few things in life more awe inspiring than game day in Happy Valley, don’t take your time getting inside the stadium, the pregame show is spectacular.
Some tips:
Beer distributors close earlier than the rest of the state in State College, before 8pm everyday, even Fri and Sat so plan your b-double e -double r u n’s accordingly.
Canyon Pizza sucks sober, don’t bother with it as a dinner option, 2am on a Saturday? Much more appealing.
CATA will be the bain of your existence, especially if you live off the V route or use the Blue Loop frequently.
Hike Mount Nittany.
The Sticky Buns at the diner are amazing and are sold all over town.
If you ever have any questions, just ask, I can be found here, well every day.

I appreciate it… I’ll definitely be on PSA and OTM while at PSU so I’ll be around

Youngstown – W
Bama – Tossup
Kent – W
Temple – W (This will be close)
Iowa – Tossup
Illinois – W
Minnesota – W
Michigan – W
NW – W
OSU – Tossup
Indiana – W
MSU – W
At minimum we SHOULD win 9 games, our defense will allow us to play with Iowa, OSU and Bama, solid chance that the OSU game is the de facto Big 10 championship game.

Hoo boy...
Trade talks between Yanksfans and the Soxfans. Even when the hypothetically trading teams aren’t mortal enemies, this always generates into "I propose we trade you Organizational Filler, 28 Year Old “Prospect and Tommy John Recovery Guy for A#1 Prospect and Underrated Fourth Best Prospect” really quickly.
