Me too, just a little.
He’s a good pitcher, but he’s not worth the hype or attention that he’s gotten. It sucks that Ubaldo is a big reason why Josh Johnson hasn’t gotten any credit for the absolutely phenomenal season he’s having.
Can I just say that I really enjoy some of you Yankees fans who hang out here?
I had a great discussion about Swisher vs. Youk on PSA, and a lot of you guys were great, thoughtful, and were true baseball fans as well as Yankees fans. And as long as you’re that, it’s nice to have you guys over.

I don't like the idea of moving Youk to third very much.
Especially not in 2-3 years. Youk’s getting to reach the age that players start to move from third to first, not the other way around. Sure, I think he could probably provide averageish defense there, but I just don’t like the idea as much. I like Youk at first much better.

This is exactly why the All Star game shouldn't count for anything.
The nature of the game, meaning managers try and get everyone in, the game is a lot of fun and a lot of fun to watch, but shouldn’t count.
Papi not being able to be pinch ran for is a perfect example of how try and play everyone style of fun play isn’t exactly ideal for a meaningful game.

I can see how it would get annoying, but it’s less an assumption and more a matter of convenience. Our audience IS overwhelmingly male, and since there’s no easy way to tell from posts, and gender neutral pronouns are actually pretty stupid in most cases, it makes sense to go with “he” until corrected.

David Stern and Gary Bettman would beg to differ...
I’m not even sure Selig is the worst commissioner in all of the four major sports right now. Actually it goes Roger Goodell who is by far and large the best of the commissioner and then Selig, Stern, and Bettman are all tied for the suckiest at last.
I feel sorry for Goodell

And he still runs his league the best which amazes me!
It just goes to show how bad all these commissioners are!
That's my only knock on Goodell
He’s too lenient on guys like Vick and Roethlisberger.
If I were in charge, anyone who was convicted of a felony or major misdemeanor would be banned from football. There is no reason to put criminals on national television. And it might make the Buresses of the world stop and think before bringing a loaded firearm into a nightclub under their damn sweatpants.

Stupidest rule ever!
All-Star winner deciding home field advantage… WTF! It should go to the team who has the best record in the WS and then head to head if they faced then down to runs scored (or another stat) and so on.
I don't mind the 1 player per team rule that much.

The ineligible thing drive me nuts, like a couple of years ago when Tito almost ran out of pitchers because half couldn't pitch.

If it must count, the
forget about the most deserving players and everybody getting a chance. They’d need to add a Wakefield type in case the game went extras, but even then it’s not realistic because of pitching changes.

I think the worst part is everyone getting to play
Lets be honest some guys are just better than others, do we really want Joe Buck batting in the 9th instead of Joe Mauer?

To be honest as an AL team we havn’t been on the short end of this. However, it’s unfair to the team with the better record, you mine as well just pick home field with a coin toss because with the way the All Star game is played now it mine as well be a coin toss.
I think we all know its just a marketing gimmick to drum up interest/ratings in the game so they can make more money on it.
CC was ineligible, so was replaced by Weaver, also ineligible
