The Red Sox have called up Boof Bonser from Pawtucket (AAA). Jonathan Papelbon was placed on the bereavement list to make room for Bonser.
No word on why Papelbon has been placed on the bereavement list, but it seems it may be a family issue. Terry Francona expects Papelbon to be out three days.
