Who's YOUR favorite position player?
Okay. Yesterday's poll was apparently trying to judge the sentiment of Red Sox Nation. While there's something to be said for such a poll, it doesn't leave room for expressing our own opinions—or if we did, it kind of got lost in the noise.
So this poll is a lot simpler: just name your favorite Sox position player. I've put all the names I thought reasonably likely to come up (sorry, Mike Cameron, Darnell McDonald, and Jeremy Hermida); if your favorite isn't on there, confess it in the comments.
We'll do pitchers separately.

Does Ortiz count as a "position player"?
Is DH a position? Doesn’t matter, I voted for him anyways…
Galactus does as he pleases. Because Galactus is drunk.

Position player = not-pitcher.
And Ortiz can play 1B.
(Note: Bill Hall will not appear on the list of pitcher choices, either.)

Hey, I didn't say you couldn't vote for him.
Just that you’d have to announce your love to the world. . . .

OK. I admit it. Jason Varitek is still my favorite. I know, I know. He’s a backup now. But just look at what the man has done over the years…. caught more no hitters than any other catcher in history… and let’s face it. What he’s done as our BACKUP catcher this year has been quite an impressive display so far. So yeah. I’m still on the ’Tek bandwagon. Probably will be until he retires and, hopevully, becomes a coach with the team.
No problem with that.
We’re asking “who’s your favorite,” not “who’s the best.” You can vote any way you want!
