Fenway actually supresses homers on average. Especially the long liner types that Bard would tend to give up.

Yup. The wall does its job in that department.
Just that it also turns outs into hits more often. But it takes away more homers than it offers.

No - because it takes such a high arcing shot to clear.
It turns a lot of line-drive HRs (in other parks) into doubles and long singles.
I really like how Betlre has started taking his time when he's got it.

Pedroia is my favorite player BY FAR in the league.
The guy runs out EVERY at bat like his life depends on it.

Trade Lackey
I think our best idea is to trade Lackey while he still has a decent record. His ERA is gigantic but he must have value on the open market. I think Beckett will come back strong and then Lackey is a man out of the rotation. I’d rather roll the Dice every 5 days then watch Lackey consistently give up big hits and 4-5 runs per start. I think Theo jumped the gun on signing him. If we need a #5 bring up one of our young guys and give him some valuable experience.
