Jeremy Hermida to the DL, and Other Roster Moves
As Amelie Benjamin points out, Adrian Beltre has an MO.
For the second time this year, Beltre has put a Red Sox left fielder on the disabled list with fractured ribs. While Ellsbury's most recent rib injury is likely not Beltre-related (we assume. Who knows what goes on before and after the games?), Hermida's is amost certainly related to his collision with Hermida in a game against the Orioles on June 4.
Meanwhile, Jonathan Papelbon will return to the team after dealing with personal issues during the Cleveland Series. Scott Atchison is also on the way back up from Pawtucket to replace Joe Nelson, who has been designated for assignment.
And the revolving doors that are the Red Sox outfield and bullpen continue to spin.

For a guy who's supposed to be a great defensive player, Beltre sure sucks at listening for other players to call the ball
Rule #1 for an infielder when the ball leaves the infield is that when an outfielder calls for the ball, you back off. When you don’t, you’re likely to break the outfielder’s ribs.
Both times the outfielders went into crapshot slides.

That tends to happen when you're about to get run over
It’s the outfielder’s call and the infielder’s job to back off.
watch both those plays
you can clearly see both outfielder’s going for the ball. And both outfielder’s not calling for the ball in any way, shape or form. Neither of these were Beltre’s fault. It would absolutely be his fault if either one had called for the ball, but neither did (Ellsbury doesn’t surprise me, used to CF, where you have tow people backing you up and no one in your way, but Hermida, as a bad LF, surprised me by diving without calling a ball).
