Dave Roberts has Lymphoma
According to the associated press, Padres assistant and former Red Sox player Dave Roberts was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in March. Apparently, the cancer was caught early, and his prognosis is good.
Dave is, of course, best known around these parts for "the Steal" in game 4 of the 2004 ALCS, often cited as the turning point in the historic Red Sox comeback. Roberts often filled in for Red Sox broadcaster Jerry Remy last year while Remy was recovering from lung cancer surgery.
Best of luck to Dave for a quick and full recovery.

Westmoreland recently asked his son how he was feeling, and the response the father received didn't surprise him. "I'm going to be in Portland next year," Ryan said.
