cant wait to see the sox call up manny rivera (in a couple of years)
every writer is gonna go for the manny in boston pun/joke
Beltre makes little league error
fields ground ball but does not throw home, with only 1 out.
this is stuff we learned in little league
they look like bums
that situation, the usual play is go to second for the double play and allow the run
he went to do that and saw he wouldn’t get the double play. Not an ideal result, but that’s the play they’re trained to make.
I don't think he gets the runner at home there.
No idea what Remy was talking about. Remy is an idiot. While he was describing the situation incorrectly they freeze framed on Beltre looking home and then trying to tag the runner. When they freeze frame the runner is at least halfway home and the ball has just entered Beltre’s glove. It was far from an easy out at home.

He would've had him by a mile.
Force at home, then throw to first. Throw from short position to home takes way less time to get there than the runner takes to go 45 feet.

He still had to dig the ball out of his glove, draw his arm back and fire.
At best I think its a very close play. He wanted to look at 2B, too. Runner at third is off on contact. That one is never really an easy play.

Beltre is supposedly the best in the business at the dig and throw bit.
But seriously, there’s no way that’s a close play. Beltre couldn’t make up his mind, froze, and ended up looking like a complete fool. Boneheaded play. There’ve been a couple of those from Beltre, all of them where he takes his time to make a play that needs to be faster. Not that he has trouble digging it out, or throwing, but that he simply sits there and takes his damn time.

I totally disagree
as did other people and the radio guys.

was Veritek waved home ???
he had no chance !! That ball was in shallow left field.
How ridiculous, we could have had bases loaded !!!
BONEHEADED !!!!!!!
Varitek was waved home, yes.
And no way Hall scores there even if you pinch run for Tek… which would have meant 2 runs this inning when VMart throws that bunt by Wigginton in RF…

Is it ok to blame the shit coaching staff though?
Because I place blame on stupid on the field decisions.
Sure, I suppose.
I’m no fan of Tito, and Bogar couldn’t coach little league.

i am a fan of tito's
he’s the first one that needs to get off his butt and make something happen.
theo’s the 2nd
when product sucks – it’s managements fault – they reap in the profits of having a good product. they are responsible for being profitable.
same when players suck – management got them here, management can bench them, move them or motivate them (if applicable).
something like the buck stops here.
4th is Mr. John W. Henry II.
tito and theo don’t want his involvement – just change the freak’n batting order!!!
I'm a fan of the 2007 coaching staff.
The problem is they got worse and some left.
oh, yea, change the batting order and bench or release boogar
come on, enough is enough.
tito, don’t worry, he’ll get over it.
true story, king georgie of ny, once had his 3rd base coach fired for a blown call, that resulted in a close out at the plate.
boogar sending a molina on crutches that get’s tagged out up the 3rd base line would have been jail time with georgie.
at least give boogar a time out
