On the one hand, Mendez threw a lot of pitches in just 2 innings
On the other, he didn’t walk anybody, his defense clearly let him down, and I read that only one of the hits he gave up was for extra bases. So that’s good. Considering the outings he’s had in the past, I’m going to throw this one into the “Positive” column, since his ERA did technically lower itself.

This Derrik Gibson kid looks good too, I saw him in spring training and liked him a lot.
