Minor Lines 4/24/10: Oscar Who? Oh, right, that guy!
Pawtucket L 2-4
Jorge Jimenez: 0-4
Aaron Bates: 1-4, 2B
Mark Wagner: 0-4, 3 K
Daniel Nava: 2-3, 2B
-16:2 K:BB not withstanding...
Dustin Richardson: 2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 4 K
Lars is pretty darn good after the jump!
Portland W 5-2
Ryan Kalish: 1-2, 2 BB, SB
-A .229 average...and an OBP right around .400. He might warrant a promotion when the first round comes. He's been putting the ball in the air, so other than BABIP, what will hold him back?
Luis Exposito: 0-4
Lars Anderson: 2-3, 2B, BB
-Keeps on pluggin' away.
Jose Iglesias: 1-4, K, 2 E
-Well that's not what you want to see...
Jason Place: 0-3, BB, 2 K
Stepehen Fife: 5.1 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 5 K
-Fife isn't looking like a guy who struggled in High-A last year.
Salem W 10-3
Pete Hissey: 1-4, 2 E, A
Tim Federowicz: 1-4, BB
-Should have a HR. The home plate ump called a ball over the wall a homer, and then was argued into turning it foul by the opposing manager and an umpire with a much worse angle.
Anthony Rizzo: 2-4, 2 2B, BB
-Good to see him dodge the K after 7 in 3 games. And stealing 3rd a lot...
Ryan Lavarnway: 0-4, K
Will Middlebrooks: 3-5, 2B, K
-The walks have stopped coming. The hits and Ks haven't. Make of that what you will.
Oscar Tejeda: 2-5, 2 HR, K
-No plate discipline, surprisingly good power, middle infielder...Tejeda, or Tejada?
David Mailman: 0-5, 2 K
Stolmy Pimentel: 4.2 IP, 8 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 3 K

Hopefully Lars keeps this up.
Would like to see him called up to DH late in the year if he continues to do well.
I didn't like the old one very much. I didn't see the ball there very well. - Julio Lugo on the old Yankees Stadium.
Seems unlikely to rush the guy who had a self-feeding collapse into the Majors before a nice long AAA stint.

It's a pity that it happened.
He could have been DH next year if he hadn’t had the disastrous year last year. On the other hand, it’s better that it happened when it did. If he manages to put the struggles behind him, he has the skill set he’ll need to survive playing for the Sox.
