Minor Lines 4/16/10: Salem Rocks, Weather Sucks
No Pawtucket and no Portland, as fog and rain respectively kill the games. Portland has already been postponed for today, too. They'll play a double header tomorrow and still have another game to make up down the line.
Salem W 13-2

Ken Roque: 0-2
Roman Mendez: 2 IP, 5 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 3 BB, 2 K, 2 HR
-After Rivera and Britton had good bounce-back starts, I was hoping for a lot more out of Mendez. Oh dear...

Lively bats at Salem.
Fed-X and Lavarnway (our two catchers, one DHing) both go 3 for 5 with a HR each, Hissey 3 for 5 with a double, Rizzo knocks 2 doubles, and the Mailman a triple in front of a minor league crowd of 4,903.
They’re drawing some fans in April at high A ball. In high A ball, where I live in Florida, Palm Beach (Cardinals) played the Fort Myers Miracle (Twins) in front of 383 fans. This is the same level of baseball. And the weather was 74 degrees at game time. That’s a huge difference in fans support.
" Play Ball "
No Bates? Damn.
