Here we go again, not only are umpires taking shots at the Red Sox and Yankees lets also include players. Ervin Santana goes after Andy Pettittee and the Red Sox saying that they get special treatment from the umpires and that is the reason his base on balls is so high. Really, could it be the fact that your career record is 59-47 with an ERA of 4.55. Seriously, I did not hear him complain in his first start of the year against the Twins when he had nearly identical stats. Take out the games in which he pitched against the two AL East beasts for his career and you are still a sub-500 pitcher with a high ERA, but let’s blame the strike zone. Amazing, what’s next? Teams complaining that they spend too much money? Already happens. Teams complain that hitters spend too much time out of the batter’s box? Check. Enough is enough, stop complaining and play the game, take responsibility for being an okay pitcher and execute your pitches instead of blaming others. After hearing what Joe West said and now Santana, I never thought that I would be rooting or siding with the Yankees especially now when they play the Angels. After each comment that is cast on both teams, I find myself slowly removing the wall of hatred built up since birth to hate the Yankees. Someone please pinch me!
