Alan Embree, geez...
4 walks, a hit, and 3 earned runs while getting only one out.
I’d say he has a ways to go.
in AAA, no less
looks exactly like his ST performances did. I’d say he has a ways to go. far far away from the red sox.
Velocity was good though.
and he was clean last time.
Good chance you’ll see him in Boston this year. Nothing to get excited about, though. They just wanted to stockpile LHP options to see who is having a good year.

'NOW IGNORE THE ERROR'
I know you’re aiming at humor here, because you know that an error from that guy is the exception rather than the rule. But it’s worth remembering that Iglesias is one of those fielders who will wind up making errors other fielders won’t make – because he gets to some balls that other fielders can’t reach in the first place.
In other words, errors can be a misleading statistic. Back in the 60’s, the Sox were having a let-your-hair-down clubhouse meeting and someone was criticizing George Scott (playing third at the time I think) for some recent errors he’d made. Scott turned to his accuser (might have been Conigliaro, but I wouldn’t swear to it) and said: ’That’s because I’ll take a chance on a ball. You don’t make errors because you never take chances.’
Reminds me of the kind of errors Beltre will get charged with from time to time. On some plays where most third basemen will give up, he’ll go for it. And a lot of the time, he’ll complete the play.
I guess what I’m trying to say is: Sure wish I could see that Iglesias error for myself.
I'm a 100% positive that Ben was sarcastic when he was speaking about the Error
And yes the error that Iglesias made was on a tough play.
Pat Hickey aka The Golden Greek tweet
Kelly’s 2nd: walk, E6 (by slick fielding Iglesias — tough play, tho after diving stop), PO 6, K, infield single, passed by (UE run), K.
Westmoreland recently asked his son how he was feeling, and the response the father received didn't surprise him. "I'm going to be in Portland next year," Ryan said.
After I wrote all that...
it occurred to me: ‘But what if he just dropped a popup?’
Dodged a bullet there I did.

Not only isn't it a big deal
BUT high error totals in the minors for shortstops actually correlate well with good major league fielding. It seems counter-intuitive, I know, but kids are still learning and polishing their game. If they’re physically talented (like Iglesias) they will get to balls they can’t handle regularly yet.
Guys without range do not make errors and errors are actually a good sign sometimes.

Well, I learned something new today. Very interesting. Thank you.

disagree with "errors can be a misleading statistic"
they are a totally worthless stat, still used by new york writers to justify jeter’s gold gloves and sell papers to the challenged yankmee fans.
anyone can go error less – just stand there and sleep – unless someone hits you with a batted ball in the glove and you are on the road, you will go error less
D'you think you'd get an error if you stayed awake and actively dodged balls hit in your direction?

Let’s leave Julio Lugo out of this. ;)

although
I was thinking of Dustin. I’m not sure who this mysterious Daniel Richardson pitching in Pawtucket is, who Ben is writing about.
Boof Bonser line today
2 IP, 2 WP, 1 HBP, 3 BB, 1 K, 1 HR, 47-22 pitches-strikes, 5 Hits, 9 Runs!!
Epic Fail?

Unless I'm reading that wrong...
Every single baserunner he let on proceeded to cross home plate? That’s… well, something alright.
Yesterday was "miss your target" day.
Bonser, Embree, even Lester… couldn’t find home plate with binoculars.
yes, but the seeing eye dog behind home plate helping the blind guy,
missed a few outside pitches
“couldn’t find home plate with binoculars.” i like that
