Minor Lines 4/11: Everybody Hits Home Runs!

Pawtucket L 3-4

Box Score

At least Reddick finally got going.

Josh Reddick: 3-5, 2B
Jorge Jimenez: 0-5
Mark Wagner: 1-4, HR, K
Daniel Nava: 1-3, BB

5 more home runs after the jump!

Star-divide

Portland L 4-6

Box Score

They had the one big inning against Rosenberg, but other than that this team was absolutely shut down.

Che-Hsuan Lin: 0-4, K
Lars ANderson: 1-4, HR, K
Jose Iglesias: 1-3
Jason Place: 1-4, K

Stephen Fife: 5 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 1 K
Jason Rice: 1 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 2 K

Salem
W 10-7

Box Score

Talk about a back-and-forth game. Sox take a 4-0 lead, give up 5 straight, tie it, give up 2, and then score 3 before putting it away with 2 runs in the 9th. One hell of a game from the middle-of-the-order.

Pete Hissey: 1-5, 2B, 2 K
Tim Federowicz: 0-5, K
Anthony Rizzo: 4-5, 2 HR
Ryan Lavarnway: 4-5, 2B
Will Middlebrooks: 3-4, 2B, K
Ryan Dent: 1-2, HR, K
Oscar Tejeda: 2-4, BB, 2 K, SB
David Mailman: 1-4, 3B, E

Alex Wilson: 3.2 IP, 7 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 1 BB, 4 K, 1 HR
-Hardly the A+ debut you hope for...

Greenville L 3-9

Box Score

Another unfortunate debut, and Almanzar actually does something for a change.

Jeremy Hazelbaker: 1-4, 3B, 3 K
Ken Roque: 1-3, BB, K
Chris McGuiness: 0-3, BB
Shannon Wilkerson: 1-4, K
Michael Almanzar: 1-3, HR, BB
Reymond Fuentes: 0-4, K

Roman Mendez: 1.2 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 3 BB, 3 K, 1 HR

Lars hits one so Rizzo hits two.

Good to see Reddick come to life too.

Yikes, Wilson didn’t look good. I like him as a good sleeper this year, too.
How did Aaron Bates do?

Bates didn't play, Jiminez was the 1B

On another note: 4 games into the season and Iglesias with 2 HBP already? Is this his answer to get on base without drawing walks?

Westmoreland recently asked his son how he was feeling, and the response the father received didn't surprise him. "I'm going to be in Portland next year," Ryan said.

Aw, I like Bates. I think he can be a good player. He was my player to watch this spring.
