PrintEverybody freak out! The Red Sox have announced that Junichi Tazawa is in Alabama to see renowned and feared orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews for a right elbow examination.
While trips to Dr. Andrews are never good news, they do not guarantee an injury. Josh Beckett visited Andrews a little under a week before he started his next game in 2008, for instance.
Tazawa had been ineffective in 7 innings for the Sox in spring training, allowing 8 runs on 10 hits, including 5 homers.
