Like Baseball? Like Watching Baseball on TV? Comcast Gives You a Deal
Let me tell you a little story about me, television and the wonderful world of baseball.
About a month ago I moved to the seacoast of New Hampshire. I don't live literally on the seacoast, but close enough. Regardless, with my move I had to make some typical decisions: Where do I live? Where do I buy my food? "What happens if there's inclement weather? Where do you...? What do you wear?" (Step Brothers quote in the house!).
I also had to figure out the most important question: How do I watch my baseball?
I turned to Comcast -- SB Nation's newest advertiser -- to help me out. I had to get NESN, that's a given. But then I decided to go a little further and get MLB Network and the sports package -- all in HD.
Let me tell you, I am one happy boy now. But you know what's even better? Comcast now has a deal for all you Over the Monster users. Click the jump to check it out.
After I picked apart the Comcast website to figure out what package I wanted, I really know everything they have to offer and for what price. The pitch below is a damn good one, if you ask me:Here’s the pitch:
1. If you are a current Comcast customer they are offering you this sweet deal:
Digital Preferred TV with MLB Network for only $9.99 a month for the first six months
2. If you are not yet a Comcast customer the deal is even better:
You can switch from Dish Network or AT&T and get MLB Extra Innings for the low, low price of FREE!!! And we all know how good FREE is!
Only Comcast brings you MLB Extra Innings and their great coverage of MLB Network. Dish Network and AT&T U-Verse can’t say that!!!
To take part in this offer, pick up your phone and dial 1-800-COMCAST.
So while you decide to call Comcast, I'll be watching Comcast. The Giants/A's are coming on in 10 minutes and I'm sick of college basketball.

Sorry man love reading the blog but....
….if this is what we are going to get from now on just because the blog is sponsored by them, then its going to make it much harder to read.
Just a one time thing

Shameless Plug?
I hope not Randy, I hope not…
Never had a problem with Comcast when I was up in MA, and they were nice to keep my year contract price basically the same after the year was over, but they don’t service my area down in CT.
But still, I hope we’re not going to get shameless Comcast plugs…
Speaking as one who stands to gain nothing from this or any other advertisement on this site
(And thus, more as a reader than a content provider)
Randy has put a lot into this site over the years, and SBN is a pretty big operation. As much as it might not be the ideal, something does have to pay the bills, and this isn’t really any different than Remy’s announcements after commercial breaks.
That being said, this isn’t going to become, from what I’ve heard, some kind of a deluge of advertising. Maybe every once in a while you see there’s a new story up and find it’s from Comcast, but it will be vastly outweighed by original content.
At least the “plugs” here will be relevant. I expect a lot more Sox fans would be interested in free or cheap baseball than Remy’s reminders of Cumberland Farms’ existence.
My 2 cents, anyways.

Sadly, the evils of comcast aren't even an option in my town
I’m stuck with the evils of Charter.
Oh God, screw Charter.
UW – Madison uses them exclusively. Their HD signal is constantly breaking up. It’s pathetic.

Clarification on Comcast Offer from SB Nation
As was announced previously, Comcast has decided to partner with SB Nation on various initiatives in 2010, including a promotional relationship for the upcoming baseball season. In our excitement to launch the program, SB Nation and Comcast announced the MLB Extra Innings offer for switching from Dish Network or AT&T U-verse (where MLB EI is not yet available).
Unfortunately, it appears we may have jumped the gun on the promotion. As some of you may have already discovered, the offer is not currently available and I sincerely apologize for the missed step.
So…what does this mean? The good news is that the offer will be rolled out in many markets soon. As soon as it becomes available, we will let you know.
SB Nation sincerely appreciates your participation in this community and we apologize that this roll out was not as smooth as it should have been. We are trying hard to create an environment where passionate fans and relevant brands can coexist. Clearly, we can always do better – and we will. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me directly at kyle@sbnation.com.
Regards,
Kyle Ragsdale
