Ozzie Guillen always has something to say.

With that said, Corona is disgusting, but I get it.

Corona

It’s a good summertime and/or hangover beer.

I could use one right now, actually, to help me through my March 18th.

Galactus does as he pleases. Because Galactus is drunk.

I have a five-tool player in my pants.

ACTUALLY, advanced metrics show that that wasn't "premature".

The best summer beer

is Long Trail Belgian White.

Book it.

I'll look into it.

I’m not sure if it’s available here.

Typically found in New England

Buuuut you might be able to find it elsewhere. Long Trail is out of Vermont.

Hefeweisen

is a better choice… I prefer a Widmer Hefeweisen

I think it is more the intent, the beer as a thirst quencher or as a quality drink. It is a thirst quencher, than Coors or Bud Lite, on a hot very humid day. It is a Pacific Northwest or Alaska Panhandle summer rainy gray day. Probably a brown ale. as quality is more important than as a thirst quencher.

Personally, I think Victoria Bitter or Tooheys should take over the US Beer market.

Guinness is a good beer 12 months of the year, if you ask me.

I gotta go 'cause I'm probably definitely gonna nod out again.

I knew I liked you

They don’t have it on-tap in my hometown, alas. Had to settle for Murphy’s.

I live in Chapel Hill , NC

And we finally got a good pub that pours a proper Guiness, it also serves the under appreciated (or in the case of down here nonexistent) Smithwicks. We’ve got some good local brews, Angry Angel by Big Boss being my favorite, but I’m not sure how far away they’re sold. The company New Belgium (I believe from out west) has also made a big push into the area this last year, I highly recommend their Fat Tire amber ale.

by brogshan on Mar 18, 2010 9:33 PM EDT up reply actions

Fat Tire is a Colorado beer

Another good beer is Smuttynose brown ale from New Hampshire. I’m not sure you can get it in NC, though.

I gotta go 'cause I'm probably definitely gonna nod out again.

I live in the city next to where that is brewed

And I had that brown ale a couple weeks ago. Not too bad.

Six Point out of Brooklyn is my favorite local beer.

But I drink a ton of Guinness. Less calories than Budweiser, go figure.

I can't stand Guinness

Too rich and filling.

I’ll take Dogfish Head.

I've had Murphy's

I’ve even had a pint or two in Cork. I find it a bit lighter and sweeter than Guinness.

I gotta go 'cause I'm probably definitely gonna nod out again.

On a hot summer day..

Room temp Guinness taste like a pint of warm heavy bread. As much I think most mass produce American beer is a crime. I see why Bud Lite and Miller Lite are so popular, if the justification for the beer as a thirst quencher, than a quality brew. There is a reason for the madness.

If one is sitting on the rainy West Coast of Eire, kind of cold and damp, Guinness makes sense, compare to the panther piss like Bud Lite.

Room temp Bud is nasty too

Nobody drinks room temp Guinness.

Holy flurking snit.

I had no idea. I’m living in a sort of news vacuum right now.

But Peter Graves was definitely a badass in MI, and hysterical in Airplane.

Great quote. But this is still the best:

“Why did I sign with the Nationals? When you go to a club at 4 in the morning, and you’re just waiting, waiting, a 600-pounder looks like J. Lo. And to me this is Jennifer Lopez right here. It’s 4 in the morning. Too much to drink. So, Nationals: Jennifer Lopez to me.” —Julian Tavarez, on signing with the Washington Nationals last year.

I gotta go 'cause I'm probably definitely gonna nod out again.

Tavarez looked like J.Lo to me.

Especially the way he THREW LIKE A GIRL…

In your opinion Corona is disgusting.

Strikeouts are boring- Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic.

I'm really glad Ozzie doesn't manage my favorite team

but I’m equally glad there are guys like this in baseball. He’s a character and he makes the game more fun.
