As of my vote

JD has 100%. The poll should be ended right now, he’s obviously dominating. ;)

If I was your math homework I'd be really hard and you'd be doing me on your desk.

Should have voted Lowrie

Because that pic is there, of course.

Tall, lanky

Looks like JD to me.

Totally.

His face is too calm and expressionless. It’s like he’s delivering a monotonous earnings report, not playing baseball. And look at how lazy his arms are; not a hint of passion. It’s like Microsoft Excel personified.

But the No. 1 sign that it is NOT Jed Lowrie, is that his shirt is SPOTLESS. Not a speck of dirt. Only JD Drew could be so clean, so thoroughly dirt-doggedless.

And before you ask

JD is fielding infield grounders because he’s too lazy to even go out to the outfield during spring training. Slacker.

I figured it was a picture from 2009

Where we were so desperate at SS that we were going to have Drew play midway between right and SS, and hope the umps would let us bat him twice.

Obviously not Lowrie

There is no indication that his wrist is as brittle as an 85-year old lifelong compulsive masturbator with osteoperosis who is allergic to dairy.

I don’t think lack of silliness is the problem.

U think anyone will give me credit for the celtics blogs. Since i was completely right. Now everyone is agreeing with me.

Eh. Doc is a contentious issue over there.

It doesn’t help that your solutions of playing Williams and Landry (who both suck) makes no sense, and that Perk is, in fact, very good and could have helped both the offense and defense if Doc would actually play him more than 10 minutes. Instead, we got Davis getting blocked and setting moving screens again. Meh.

Mwahahaha

Jon McDonald tweet

Che-Hsuan Lin lined two back to the pitcher’s screen off Beckett.

I know it’s just spring training blah blah but this kid is special, this is the year he’ll rocket through the charts…Watch out.

I'm pretty sure at this juncture the pitchers are

calling out the pitch type and location.

Strikeouts are boring- Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic.

Hah, I'm actually suprised

to hear Beckett didn’t brush him back after Lin hit a few rockets back up the middle.

Heh

I guess he’s scared that he threw the ball back at him: He has a better arm and Beckett, like every base runner in the Carolina league, knows that ;)

by drabidea on Feb 26, 2010 7:28 PM EST reply actions

dont like the lineup so far

I’m a big fan of alternating lefties and righties. I would prefer this lineup so far, and the end is obviously predictable: 1. Ellsbury, 2. Pedroia, 3. Youk, 4. V-Mart, 5. JD Drew, 6. Beltre, 7. Ortiz,

by koopz42 on Feb 26, 2010 9:06 PM EST reply actions

well the OTM lineup sofar has LRSRLRL

so never 2 of the same after each other while you have LRRSLRL back to back righties in 2 and 3, although they have almost no LR splits to be fair. But your argument is actually not existent.

by German Red Sox Fan on Feb 26, 2010 9:09 PM EST up reply actions

Why Drew in the 3 or 5 hole?

Why do some people believe that drew should be in the 3 or 5? What is wrong with you people? Get real, drew is declining. He is good but why dont you look at whats best for the team instead of looking at past performances.

by Drew P on Feb 26, 2010 9:19 PM EST reply actions

It is by measuring the past that we can predict the future.

Not sure who first said that, but it wasn’t me.

by TheLoneDavid on Feb 26, 2010 11:38 PM EST up reply actions

What decline?

His offensive numbers have been relatively consistent—and near the top of MLB for OFs. Both his 2008 and 2009 numbers were in fact better than his 2006 and 2007 numbers.

The evidence for a decline just isn’t there.

by lone1c on Feb 27, 2010 12:04 AM EST up reply actions

you keep saying this

but are there any numbers to back it up? The last two years have been two of his best offensively and defensively. Please, just say what it is that indicates he is declining.

by wolf9309 on Feb 27, 2010 12:44 AM EST up reply actions

I registered just for this.

WAR
2007 – 1.4
2008 – 4.2
2009 – 4.8

BA/OBP/OPS
2007 – .270/.373/.796
2008 – .280/.408/.927
2009 – .279/.392/.914

ISO/wOBA
2007 – .152/.346
2008 – .239/.400
2009 – .243/.389

UZR/150
2007: -2.4
2008: 12.9
2009: 15.7

Clearly, JD Drew is in decline.
