Small problem. Who do we try to get? The obvious first option is other relief pitching, but I don't think a team will give up young or talented relief pitching for Papelbon's salary and attitude. The second option is prospects, but I don't see that happening either. For now, we should try to keep Papelbon until his situation becomes a problem. The Sox are pretty complete, aside from a few more bullpen slots. Additionally, after a bad year, Pap's trade value probably isn't very high. Will a team really come to the Sox with a good offer for Pap? Maybe, but I don't think so. Hang on to him as long as we can, even if that means most/all of 2011. A trade would be pointless.
