Big Shoes To Fill: Taking Over For Randy

Hello all,

As of today, I'll be taking over for Randy as the manager of Over The Monster.

It's only been about a year and a half since I came to Over The Monster, plying my Minor Lines. Within a short few months, I found myself coming here for every Game Thread, hanging out with the most fun and well-informed group of Red Sox fans I'd ever met. When Randy offered me an opportunity to come aboard and write for OTM, I could hardly refuse. And when the fine folks at SBN asked if I would be interesting in taking over for Randy, it was again an easy decision.

For the most part, this doesn't mean many changes for you all. We're going to keep doing our best to make OTM the best Red Sox blog the internet has to offer. Randy had a pretty good system going around here, after all, and I'll try hard not to mess it up too badly.

In the immediate future, this means we'll be bringing back all our usual offseason series. Best moments, prospect voting, community projections, etc. Of course, we'll be keeping you up-to-date on all the Hot Stove goings-on and anything else that comes up Red Sox related.

We'll also be looking to add some more talent to the writing staff. More on that soon.

I'll leave off by reiterating what Randy said in his farewell:

Over The Monster is all about you guys: the daily readers, the game thread regulars, and the commenters who hold hundred-post arguments over everything from Jonathan Papelbon's value to Adrian Beltre's aversion to head rubs. Without you guys, we're just any other Red Sox site. So keep reading, keep commenting, and if you've got any way we can make Over The Monster better for you and the rest of the Red Sox fans out there, don't hesitate to tell us.

Finally, to continue the tradition...

Congratulations, Chief.

You are now the head lunatic in the asylum. Enjoy your stay; perks of the job include a bonus gruel ration once a week, and your room even comes with extra-thick padding on the walls for added comfort.

(And, as a side benefit to us OTM ~~miscreants~~ ~~ne’er-do-wells~~ ~~snarky sarcastic bastards~~ denizens, at least we now know whom to send our T-shirt requests to.)

Still sad to see Randy leave but if there was such a thing as a no-duh decision it was naming you to be his successor.
