Where Do You Rank As An Over The Monster Reader? I'll Tell You

I've said this before, but I'll say it again: the tech guys at SB Nation are pretty damn smart. They do stuff regular Joes like me either can't do or don't want to do.

Whether this falls under the "can't do" or the "won't do" category, it doesn't really matter because it's pretty cool. But the tech guys decided to tally some year-end stats for each blog on the network for various areas, including comments, story totals, etc.

Here's what was ranked:

  • Most active commenters
  • Most stories
  • Most FanPosts
  • Most FanShots

Care to give a prediction on which user leads at each category? The answers, plus a few more totals, will be presented after the jump.

I would actually like that commenter list as a batting lineup. BS.UF at the top of the lineup with some speed. Ben Buchanan in the two hole to get on base. Big hitter Drugs Delaney in the three spot. Then we've got the old-timing DH in Gizmo. It's a good lineup from top to bottom.

I'd like to throw out a challenge: if anyone can knock off BS.UF off his crown for 2010, you will receive a prize from me. Of course, if he tops out as OTM's biggest commenter next year, he'll get a prize too, but right now the bounty is on his head. So once again, whoever leads OTM in 2010 in number of comments will win a prize directly from this guy. I promise it'll be worth the while.

And I also challenge people to knock me off my FanShot title. Do I have any takers?

by Bloggy on Jan 7, 2010 8:11 PM EST up reply actions

A Quick Story:

At a baseball game, it was a critical bases-loaded 9th inning…. tense situation, etc….

Their team’s batter hit a wicked diving liner between short and third and our school’s shortstop made an impressive play on the ball “on the hop” so the baseball team, then all sports teams and a lot of guys…….well you know high school kids, that became a much over used phrase to signify any significant accomplishment for high school guys…..
(sports, girls, grades, etc…)

A quite meaningless phrase that I haven’t used in a while and will eventually let subside.
