There are no can’t-miss, once-in-a-decade talents on this Top 10 list, but there are a number of players who have the opportunity to really explode in 2010. You also have to love the fact that all 10 players on the list were drafted or originally signed by the Red Sox organization. You can’t fake good scouting and development.

I think Hulet being down on Ryan Kalish
Is more a matter of not being able to closely follow the minor league seasons of all these guys. For as much as Kalish’s AA stint was mediocre in its whole, he noticeably improved as the year went on.

+1
His monthly splits are pretty obvious. On the other hand, I like the Gibson love :)

Wow, no Iglesias
Kinda surprising.
So is Tazawa being so high and Kalish so low, but I guess there are several scouts out there who question Kalish’s ultimate ceiling. His “tweener” status isn’t helping him any, but it’ll be all the better when he proves those claims wrong.

It's not surprising
Fangraphs’ Prospects lists uses advanced stats: K rate, BB rate, ISO and wOBA for hitters, FIP, WHIP and batted ball data for pitchers. MH don’t use scouting reports. So the fact that Iglesias didn’t had many ABs make him a out of their ranking (Most of his value is in his glove and there’s no data to qualify his defense)

He wasn't eligible.

High on Tazawa.
Which is good. Hulet says in the comments that numbers 3-9 could go in almost any order and I agree with that. A lot of these guys are kind of on the fringe of “Top Prospect” status, meaning one big year we’ll know a lot more.

Casey Kelly likes my people (at 2.00 minutes)
Mike Hazen is the illegitimate father of Jose Iglesias :)

Kelly kinda looks like Matt Leinhart.
Strikeouts are boring- Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic.

Hahah
I was actually gonna throw in “hope he plays like him too”. Now I’m glad I didn’t cuz I really want that prestigious “Yankee fan we hate a little less than all other Yankee fans” award.
