Over the Monster Top 20 Prospects Voting #11: Ex-Po-Si-To
Rounding out the top-10 is the Beast from the Southeast, Luis Exposito! The well-rounded backstop made it up to AA last year, where he had a very productive if short stint, with an OPS of .860 is 92 at bats.
From here on, we'll be going to a Saturday - Wednesday format (with today being the obvious exception), getting two prospects in a week. This should have us wrapping up the list a few days before the first game of Spring Training. So get 'em in quick, or not at all. Prospect write-ups and stats can be found here, and the list-to-date is on the left sidebar. Vote away!

WTF? Expo at number 10?
Luis Exposito 2009 AA stint:
BB rate 4.1 %
K rate: 29.3 %
K/BB: 0.15 (!!!!!!!!!)
BABIP: .452 (!!!!!!!)
I see red flags all over him and here’s what Kevin Goldstein has to say about him:
cpaddock: Kevin, what did you hear that kept Exposito off this list?
Kevin Goldstein: I’m very surprised that Expo didn’t come up earlier. Honestly, it’s hard to find scouts very high on him, despite some numbers that have been pretty darn good. Bad approach, so-so defense. I certainly don’t hate him, and would put him in the 16-20 range, but he just didn’t get enough support to go higher.
I’m pretty sure he’ll pull a 2009 Lars Anderson next season so keep your expectations very low guys, it’s going to be ugly!
"That was a lot of fun… You just keep pounding balls into the gap. The one thing you don’t want to do is hit a home run. That’s a rally-killer." Jeff Francoeur
I doubt it'll be a "Lars Anderson" as you put it.
Lars had a particularly bad year and didn’t adjust to AA. We can certainly say that Expo’s SSS stint in AA was due to good luck, but at the same time pretty much everyone does struggle when they reach a new level. There’s no reason to think that Expo wouldn’t still develop while seeing the better pitching in AA.
For his career, he’s a much more patient hitter than that. K-rate around 20%. A low BB-rate, but getting better, and Mike Hazen describes him as having the best raw right-handed power in the system.
As it stands, he’s a guy with the right makeup that’s still bringing all his tools together, but isn’t doing too shabbily for himself right now.

I'm guessing Stolmy gets this, which is fine
So I went with Gibson, just because.
